Only 4 days of school left! I can not believe this year is almost over. When I was making the slideshow for Spring Showcase I was surprised by how little the kids all were at the beginning of the year. Not only have they grown in size this year, but they have learned so much as they have grown as readers, writers, scientist and mathematicians.
We started off the week a little sad with field day being moved, but we made the best of it and had a great week!
Monday we had the chance to learn all about 3rd grade and then teach the 1st graders about 2nd grade. I loved listening to them share the fun we have had this year!
Tuesday and Wednesday we worked hard to finish up our economics unit and write our final book reviews. The last set of graded papers will come home next Wednesday.
Thursday afternoon was puzzle day. We learned how to do logic puzzles, made our own work searches, and made some super silly Mad Libs.
Friday was full of surprises! We had parent readers, ice cream sundaes, and loved using mini flashlight to share our favorite picture books with each other.
Next week is going to be even more fun!
Monday- Field Day
We will have field day rain or shine on Monday. There is plan in place in case of rain.
Please have your child wear our orange 2nd grade or another orange shirt, and sneakers. They should also bring in a water bottle labeled with their name.
If we are outside they will also need a change of clothes and sunscreen.
Tuesday- Memory/Party Day
On this day we will look back over our year. We have a time set aside for all of our 2nd grade classes to sign each other's yearbook. If your child has a yearbook please send it in on Tuesday. I will have pages ready for students who do not have yearbooks.
In the afternoon we will have our class party!
Wednesday- Game Day
On Wednesday we will spend the day playing games with our friends. Kids can bring in 1 or 2 board/card games to share with the each other. Please label all games with your child's name so we can make sure that all games get back home.
No electronic games!
Thursday- Movie Day
We will watch movies and eat snacks to enjoy our last day of 2nd grade.
Have a great weekend!
